Micro Star International is reported to plan a demonstration of its upcoming Wind NetBOX at CES in January 2009. According to the news on the web, the machine will come as a choice over the well known ASUS Eee Box series and, even if it was initially reported to be named Windbox, we learn that the Wind NetBOX is the official name of the series.

The upcoming MSI Wind NetBOX is, as expected, quite small. It measures only 180 x 255 x 19mm (0.87L), yet the company seems to have packed inside a lot of features. The machine is powered by an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor and comes with GMA950 integrated graphics solution, able to provide a maximum resolution of up to 2048x1536.

The motherboard on the Wind NetBOX can support 2GB of DDR2 memory, as it comes packed with 1GB onboard DDR2 and an additional SO-DIMM slot for 1GB more. For storage, the machine sports a 2.5-inch 5400rpm HDD, which offers a capacity of 160GB. A mini-PCIe socket, Realtek Audio sound board and 3-in-1 card reader can also be spotted. Connectivity is available via 10/100M Ethernet support. The power consumption of the fresh MSI Wind NetBOX is of only 40W.

According to the news on the web, the machine allows users to mount it on the back of the LCD monitor through a VESA mount. The supported operating systems are said to be Windows XP and Linux Suse. The news also says that the Wind NetBOX will be made available in a range of different colors, but it seems that the company has not unveiled any price information on the machine.

The fresh MSI Wind NetBOX looks quite fancy, while also coming with appealing features and capabilities. Until the machine is showcased at CES, you can take a look at the images the guys from news site vr-zone managed to get their hands on.
