“Just hide the built-in Photos app and use Photos+,” says Second Gear Software

Second Gear Software has announced Photos+, a new iPhone app for storing, editing, and sharing your photos, which aims to dethrone Apple’s Photos app, also referred to as Camera Roll.

According to Second Gear, Photos+ displays all your photos and albums using big thumbnails and full-screen viewing options, along with EXIF info and a map which pinpoints the exact location of the shooting session.

Granted, Apple’s iOS does pretty much the same thing, but not the EXIF bit (screenshot above). The firm also animates GIFs for you.

“Messy camera roll? Yeah, that’s how it goes. Just hide the built-in Photos app and use Photos+ to easily drop your pictures into albums,” says Second Gear Software, essentially declaring war to Apple’s Photos app.

Sharing options include email, Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter, according to the developers.

The app isn’t immediately available, but Second Gear will be more than glad to let you know when it arrives in the App Store. Just leave your email address at secondgearsoftware.com and stay put.
