14 DAY TRIAL // This could be a romance made in glossy magazine heaven: Katy Perry is now dating John Mayer. The rumor has been around for about a week, but Us Magazine has the pictures to prove it now.
Shortly after the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal broke and word got out that Robert Pattinson had moved out because she'd broken his heart, various tabs linked the handsome Brit to Katy Perry, for some reason.
At about the same time, speculation was starting to pick that she was actually dating John Mayer but was reluctant to go public with the romance because she did not feel ready yet.
As it turns out, she had a change of heart the other night, Us Magazine reports.
The weekly has photos of the two leaving the restaurant together, in the same car and, while there's no touching or kissing or any other typically romantic behavior going on, sources confirm for the publication that this is the real deal.
“Yup, it's on! Katy Perry and John Mayer were photographed together for the first time in LA on Wednesday night. Perry, 27, and Mayer, 34, had a leisurely dinner together at Chateau Marmont, an observer [says],” the mag writes.
There is no doubt left that the two are an item and chances are, judging by their behavior, that they might be dating for some time.
“And the date, the witness adds, was definitely romantic, with the 'Teenage Dream' singer and Mayer 'holding hands across the table,' sneaking kisses, and laughing,” the report goes on to say.
On a previous date, “They were affectionate, holding hands and cuddling!,” another tipster says for the same media outlet.
One reason Katy and John might have thought it best to play it safe and not go public with the fact that they're dating could be their colorful pasts and knowing the kind of media frenzy this would generate – as it did.
Katy has just gotten divorced from comedian Russell Brand, whom she married after just a couple of months of dating.
John, on the other hand, has been linked with several showbiz beauties, including Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift, earning for himself quite a player reputation.
