With various customization features, extended privacy settings

Owners of Windows Phone 8 devices can now enjoy a new photo sharing application that works similarly with Instagram, namely Photoplay, which has already landed on other mobile operating systems out there as well.

The application offers support for all “modern smartphones,” is very simple to use, and comes with a nice range of features, including extended privacy settings.

With it, users can easily tweak their photos and then share them with their friends over social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and VK, the app’s description reads.

Enabling users to easily customize their photos, discover new images on the map and set share photos only with specific people, the app comes with a nice range of features attached to it:

- customizable effects, vignetting; - easy square or rectangular crop; - discover photos on map; - privacy setting for every photo; - ability to repost photos; - extended search.

Additionally, the app allows users to blur or tilt-shift their photos, while also enabling them to modify the brightness and contrast before sharing an image. There are also 8 quality filters available for free, it seems.

Furthermore, the new application has been designed to enable users to easily find more friends over social networking sites, and to enjoy features such as likes, comments, and more.

On top of that, the development team promises additional filters and features for the app in upcoming new flavors, so that users would enjoy a better experience on the go.

Of course, Photoplay is not Instagram – and many Windows Phone users are looking for that specific photo sharing app to arrive on their devices – but it does pack appealing features, and should prove a worthy replacement (though some users already complain of slow loading of photos).

The mobile app is available for download through the Windows Phone Store for free, and is compatible with all Windows Phone 8-based smartphones. As WMPoweruser notes, a WP7 flavor might arrive soon.
