Photokina 2014 is getting closer and closer and as the time passes, rumors and speculations about what the most important camera gear makers are going to be unveiling are heating up.

In an earlier piece, we talked about Canon and how the device maker will be a big presence at the event, unleashing an entire host of products.

On the other hand, its Arch competitor, Nikon is not expected to make such a big splash. The company will show us some new products, that’s beyond any shadow of doubt, but its portfolio won’t be that extensive.

In what follows we’re going to walk you through Nikon’s expected lineup for Photokina 2014.

D750

This will probably be hottest product Nikon will bring forth at the event in Germany. After years of being unhappy with the D800 DSLR series, photo enthusiasts will finally get the true D700 successor they have been hoping for all of this time.

The camera is expected to arrive with a 24.3 full frame sensor working with an EXPEED 4 image processor. It should also be marketed around the $2,500 / €1,836 margin.

D9300

Canon has been making a lot of waves with the 7D replacement, known in the rumor mill as the 7D Mark II. In the same vein, Nikon is expected to bring forth a successor for the D300, in the form of the D9300.

There isn’t a lot of information indicating this will be the case, but it’s worth a shot. Nikon might surprise us by bringing forth a revamped version of the D7100

D2300

This is a ultra-compact Revel SL1 / EOS 100D DSLR which we briefly heard of in the past, and with a bit of luck, we might see its face at Photokina.

Medium Format Camera

Like Canon, Nikon has been rumored to be prepping a medium format camera which is said to be arriving with a Sony 50MP CMOS MF Sensor.

Information has been scarce about such a product, but there’s still a chance the device will make a debut during the event.

Coolpix A replacement

This is one of the products we’ll most likely see get unveiled at the vent. Back in 2013, Nikon launched a compact camera with a large APS-C sensor and now it’s high time we had a replacement on our hands.

Coolpix P700 (and P800)

We were waiting for this compact duo of cameras to arrive sometime in the first part of the year, but for some reason Nikon decided to delay things. Well, maybe the wait will be over next month.

Apart from all the cameras outlined above, Nikon has been tipped to be prepping the SB-500 Speedlight Flash and even the Micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4D IF-ED AF replacement.

Keep an eye on the Nikon booth at Photokina next month to see which of these predictions turn out to be true.
