Those following the photography world might be aware that Photokina is one of the largest digital imaging events in the industry. It takes place once every two years, but when it does, it makes sure to gathers all of the big players.

So we expect giants like Sony, Nikon, Canon, Olympus or Leica to be present in Cologne, Germany and unleash a slew of new and interesting products.

The event kick starts on September 16, so be prepared to be bombarded with all kinds of new cameras, lenses and accessories for at least one week's time.

One of the biggest presences at Photokina will be Canon, and we’re saying this not because the competition isn't as grand, but because the device maker is expected to launch a lot of products.

Here’s a roundup of what we expect to see from Canon in the upcoming weeks.

7D Mark II

The upcoming flagship APS-C DSLR has been rumored for quite a while now. We don’t have a lot information about the specifications of the camera, but the rumor mill said the camera won’t have a Foveon-like sensor but come equipped with a completely new technology like a multilayered sensor.

As for the 7D, the device has been discontinued but can still be found and purchased with several retailers.

Unknown Medium Format Camera

Word on the street has it Canon will be showing a medium format camera at the event. Apparently, some references related to a device of this sort have been spotted in a bunch of questionnaires applied to “key users.”

While this is not much to go on, Canon might still surprise us with a medium format camera in a few weeks.

PowerShot SX60 HS

A much awaited specimen, the SX60 HS was expected to arrive before summer 2014, but for some reason the device got delayed.

Now we’re hoping to see it arrive at Photokina 2014 with a possible 100x optical zoom lens with 35m equivalent of 20-2000mm or 65X+ zoom lens. The information is quite conflicted on the matter, so we’ll have to wait and see what’s what at the event.

Canon EOS M3

Canon has not been the mirrorless king of the castle, but the company might launch a few cameras under the EOS M3 banner during the event. PowerShot G17

The camera could be the successor of the G16 and that was promised to arrive ever since May. We all know nothing came, but the compact camera might become a reality at the event along with some other entry-level models.

These are the cameras we expect Canon to show up with, but it's not the end of our story. The device maker will probably also bring forth some fresh lenses like new EF 800mm f/5.6L IS USM, EF 11-24mm f/2.8, new EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS, new tilt-shift lenses, macro zoom and a Speedlite 430EX II replacement.

Prepare to have a very busy, busy week with Canon. No wonder they teased that something “BIG” was coming a while back.
