The death of Tupac Shakur, one of the most influential rappers of all times, was so sudden, tragic and ultimately shrouded in mystery that many fans still refuse to believe that it ever happened. Because of this, Tupac sightings, along with Elvis ones, are among the most frequently reported, although they have decreased a bit in number in the past years. However, they still occur, as new photos from TMZ clearly show.

The celebrity gossip website and famous paparazzi agency, which has freelancers working for it in all corners of the world, just posted this on the official website. There are three snaps of a man who looks very much like the late rapper, which, unsurprisingly, prompts TMZ to state out clear that, well, Tupac is still alive and has been spending all these years in hiding for fear of his life.

“TMZ has obtained photographic evidence that Tupac Shakur is alive and well and drinking Hand Grenades in New Orleans – unless we’re terribly mistaken.” TMZ writes in a post accompanying the set of three pictures. “13 years after he was shot and ‘killed’ in Las Vegas... a man appearing to be 2pac was spotted in a bar on Bourbon Street last weekend. We were unable to get any sort of DNA evidence – but this photo is good enough for us.” it is further said.

Of course, the TMZ story comes to contradict all those theories out there that say that, indeed, the legendary and controversial rapper was shot multiple times in a drive-by on the night of September 7, 1996, and died a few days later from the injuries sustained. Granted TMZ was in the right with these pictures, they would also come to contradict the Tupac autopsy photos that are now available online, and would confirm the theory that he only went into hiding to protect his own life.

The story that Tupac is alive and well, complete with pictures, has already been picked up by several hip-hop publications and e-zines, with the vast majority of them saying that this is clearly a case of mistaken identity, a lookalike, to be more accurate. For starters, the rapper would be much older than the man in the pictures if he were still alive, they say. Secondly, he has his arms covered so no tattoos are visible – which only leaves the possibility of identifying him as Tupac on a nose piercing and the seemingly facial resemblance.

See for yourselves and judge, and keep an eye on this space for updates on this one.
