A photographer was shot in the leg Saturday afternoon, with a BB gun, outside a home in Malibu, California, at a supposed Britney Spears party.

The photographer, Brad Diaz, was standing near the residence, with another 15 to 20 paparazzi, and was trying to get some shots from Britney Spears baby shower, when he received birdshot in his thigh. Diaz called to 911 himself.

"There was a bang, like the sound of a firecracker, and then the photographer complained of pain,'' an eyewitness reported to Splash News. "He was holding his thigh and saying he'd been shot. When he pulled up his shorts, there was a wound that looked like a pellet wound and it was bleeding heavily.''

Lt. Steve Smith of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department declared they are still investigating who shot the photographer. "It could've been somebody driving by, walking by, we have no idea where it came from," Smith told AP.

The identity of the house's owner was not release to publicity, but it seems Britney is a frequent guest there.
