Jonathan Mak Long has photoshopped the Apple logo to replace the bite with Steve Jobs’ face to bring his own tribute to the Apple co-founder. The image depicting Jobs' face appears to be taken from the cover of ‘Inside Steve’s Brain’, a book about the iconic man authored Leander Kahney.

Apple recently announced the passing of their beloved co-founder and chairman of the board, Steven P. Jobs, sparking an unstoppable flow of tributes coming from all corners of the world.

That includes Hong Kong, where 19-year-old Jonathan Mak Long put his talent to work and came up with the image above. It’s a mashup of the minimalistic Apple logo and a silhouette representation of Jobs’ head.

Jonathan is a self-proclaimed designer, photographer, and philosopher. The guy apparently isn’t sure whether or not he’s the first to come up with this design. He encourages those who believe he isn’t to step forward.

love it. love it so much i think Apple should consider reworking the logo to include this image. It's iconic, just as the man was.

Touching tribute...Although parts of the design may not be original, the idea of putting it together is. I think Jonathan should change his last name to Mac.

Love his face in the apple. For some reason I thought about Johnny Appleseed planting apple trees around the country.

Perfect! I felt so touched by your tribute, and by his image itself. Perfect.

This tribute is heart warming. Apple should honor Steve Jobs with a special edition series honoring him with this logo with certain proceeds going towards cancer research. Just a thought.

O.K I'm sorry to be a party pooper but somebody has got to say it,
This guy has actually gone and broken the law. Yes its a great Idea and yes many of us wish we'd had it in the art world, oh yeah wait many of us did have it but chose not to execute it because.
A. The apple logo is copy righted
B. that picture of Jobs that he used is also probably copy righted.
So unless he had permission to use the apple logo from Apple corp. I don't think they will be happy about it, of course they should probably buy the visual itself but why should they it belongs to them.
I now see why china and Asia has so many International issues in regards to copy rights.
I work as an artist and so do most people I know and we do not find this amusing. Having said that I admire Jobs and his empire and I'm sure he will be missed by many. As for Jonathan Mak Long I think if he plans on becoming an international artist, graphic designer or whatever he should really learn to respect other people's property. Personally I would have sued his a@s in Europe. Just like Apple sued Samsung.

By the way speaking of apples and what you can or can't do with them did you know that Apple Records filed suit against Apple Computer (now Apple Inc.) twice for trademark infringements? The first time they where awarded $80,000 the second time $26.5 million.

As a designer/artist when it comes to apples, it's best not to be tempted.
