The angry crab plunged his claws into the otter's eye

The Norwegian amateur photographer Andre Sorlie captured some incredible pictures of the painful battle between a sea otter and a crab.

The 37-year-old photographer took the snapshots last summer while he was in Hitra, Norway.

“The house I was staying in is only meters from the sea and it has a great view looking out on to the bay,” says Sorlie, according to Daily Star.

“I looked out of the window and noticed a seal swimming around so I grabbed my camera and headed down to the shore.[...] My camera was already set up because of the seal I was waiting on and I just started shooting pictures. It took me a while to realise that something was wrong as the otter's head was turned away from me, but then it looked in my direction and I saw the crab hanging on for it's life,” he adds.

The sea otter was peacefully swimming at the surface of the water, but he obviously got a little too close to the angry crab, who attacked him plunging his claws into his eye.

The marine mammals live around 15 years and survive on a diet of crustaceans, like crabs, clams and mussels. They are not only bigger than the crabs, but also stronger and more dominant, but this time, the crab has been faster and his movements more precise.
