I kid you not, this rock found in a Siberian river really does look like the head of a really unlucky crocodile

Word has it that, while exploring the Ruta-Ru River in Russia's Yamal Peninsula, a group of fishermen came across a weird rock whose appearance reminded them of a crocodile's head.

A photo of this rock is available next to this article. I don't know about you, but from where I stand this rock does not just resemble a crocodile head. I dare say it's the spitting image of one.

According to Daily Mail, several scientists have until now examined this rock, and they all seem to think that it's not so much a run-off-the-mill geological formation as it is the remains of an ancient lizard, maybe even a dinosaur.

It is understood that researchers plan to return to the area as soon as possible and study this peculiar formation in further detail. Hopefully, they will manage to figure out what it is and where it came from.

“We plan to go on an expedition to the river next year with scientists from the Yamal Peninsula to prove to the world that it is not a river stone but the remains of an ancient animal,” Professor Sergey Gashev told the press in an interview.

Then again, there is one other possibility. Simply put, it could be that this crocodile head-like river stone is no more and no less than a hoax.

Let's face it. If it were really a rock, wouldn't it have been easier to pull it from the river and properly study it in laboratory conditions rather than wait for next year to go back and have a better look at it?
