The name of Popeye the sailor man is usually associated with visuals like this. We all know and love Popeye: he’s everyone’s favorite cartoon character, fighting for Olive Oyl’s affection and occasionally eating spinach to better a bigger opponent.

He’s fun and he’s cheery and he’s brave, even if he occasionally makes huge mistakes. Consequently, he’s popular. Popeye is a symbol of bravery and unflinching affection, but he's also the best example you can offer your kids to motivate them into eating their veggies.

If Popeye were a real man, he would look like the guy in the image above, based on the details and the proportions on the cartoon character. Click to see it in full but, be warned, some things cannot be unseen.

Drawn by Lee Romao, the real-life Popeye would have hands the size of a baby elephant’s head, scary tattoos and an even scarier face. The last thing he'd inspire in anyone would be admiration or the desire to approach him for a friendly chat. Probably because he wouldn't look like he'd be in the mood for anything other than bloody murder.

He would look like one of them Garbage Kids and, for some reason, I always found them disturbing and scary on countless levels.

If it’s any consolation, Olive Oyl would probably be just as spooky but, luckily, a photo of how she’d look in real life isn’t available. Yet.
