Former American football quarterback made glamorous appearance, became a viral star

You have to admit, not many 70-year-old men could show up in public wearing a fur coat and still look as glamorous as Super Bowl III MVP Joe Namath. He came out for the coin toss wearing one and he is now everyone’s favorite topic of conversation online.

Not PETA’s though. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) makes a valid point in saying that “too many” animals died for Namath’s fur coat and that he, as a public figure, should not wear fur because it encourages others to do the same.

Namath certainly didn’t seem to care, as the photo above can confirm. The coin toss didn’t go too smoothly either, but at least he looked fab in his coat.

Plus, he kept Twitter and all social media entertained, with millions rushing to leave a witty comment about the coat and Namath’s fabulousness.

Speaking of the fur creation on his back, several media outlets note that it’s not new, as a photo of the former American football quarterback from 1973 shows him wearing an identical one. So either he has two (or more!) of them, or he recycled it for last night’s big game.
