The Sony hacking scandal is the gift that keeps on giving for celebrity bloggers, and as of late, movie pundits, with the new series of leaked emails offering a rare and very juicy look into cinema – the industry, not the art.

This is a world that’s both A-list and immature, rich and unprofessional, and occasionally racist, in which nothing is sacred and talent ranks last on the list of important qualities to have. Because of the hacking that occurred last month, and for which a group that calls itself Guardians of Peace claimed responsibility, we now know exactly what happens over at Sony Pictures – which explains why they’ve been responsible for so many box office failures in recent years.

Yesterday, emails between hotshot producer Scott Rudin and Sony co-chairman Amy Pascal, in which they fought like spoiled, rude kids over the “Jobs” biopic and they bashed Angelina Jolie as a “minimally talented spoiled brat,” emerged online.

It’s safe to say that no one over at Sony or the talent with whom they usually associate, be it actors, producers and even directors, came out of this looking good. Everyone came out looking from bad to worse to horrible – everyone except George Clooney.

Because in one email to Pascal, he predicted the hacking. It happened in September, as part of a conversation they were having about a movie called “Hack Attack,” inspired by the Rupert Murdoch / News Of the World hacking scandal, with Clooney writing in the subject of the email “knowing this email is being hacked.”

“how much fun are we gonna have… the stakes are higher than citizen kane… i’m so excited to do this film… and for those of you listening in… i’m the son of a news man… everything will be double sourced… so come on with your lawsuits… [expletive]ers…” he wrote, as the photo above can confirm.

This begs the question: was Clooney prescient? Did he accurately predict that Sony would be hacked, or did he know that hackers were already tapping into private emails and stealing information? Or is this an invitation?
