If you’re a “Lord of the Rings” fan, you’ve probably seen “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” at least once already. The photo above is also a must-see, by the way.

Your eyes are not misleading you: this is Elijah Wood looking incredibly Gollum-y – and no, it is not a fake, Comic Book Movie reports.

This is how Frodo would have looked had he kept the ring.

“This unusual unreleased picture of Elijah Wood as Frodo comes from a deleted scene intended to showcase this hobbit turning into a Gollum-like creature,” CBM writes.

“This scene was intended to occur when Frodo is freaking out against Faramir,” adds the same media outlet.

The scene never made it out of the editing room but, looking at this photo, one can’t but feel incredibly sorry that it didn’t because you just know it would have been great.
