Over the past week, leaked details on some of NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce products have taken the Internet by storm, providing users with a glimpse of what the future will provide them, on the part of NVIDIA. The latest round of leaked info has surfaced on vr-zone, which claims to have scored some schematics of the upcoming GeForce GTS 240 graphics card. Given the high number of leaked details, the card could be showcased at the CeBIT show in Hanover, Germany, early next month.

There are a number of speculations on the specifications of the new card, but there's a general belief that the GeForce GTS 240 will be powered by a 55nm G92-based GPU, similar to that of NVIDIA's current GeForce 9800GT graphics card. According to details on vr-zone, the upcoming card will be built on a new PCB, which is dubbed P361, or D10P2, as NVIDIA calls it internally.

Boasting a new 55nm GPU, the new card is expected to provide users with a core speed of 675MHz. The Shaders and memory clock will be set at 1688MHz and 2200MHz, respectively, while the card itself is expected to provide users with 112 stream processors and 512MB of GDDR3 memory. The new card is essentially a 55nm-based, overclocked version of the 9800GT, which is featured with 112 stream processors and core speeds of 600MHz, 1500MHz and 1800MHz, for the GPU, Shaders and memory.

Pricing and exact release details are yet to become available, but the new card is expected to provide users with a choice for a mainstream graphics card. Also, thanks to its 55nm GPU, it should allow for a better power consumption level and also some minor overclocking.

The new card should be released along with the GeForce GTS 250, another 55nm-based graphics card, which NVIDIA is expected to unveil in the near future.
