Not too long ago, a woman living in the city of Columbus in Ohio, US, thought it a good idea to put her granddaughter in a roasting pan next to some potatoes, snap a photo of her, and then post it on Facebook for the entire world to see.
As if sticking a 2-month-old inside a pan next to some vegetables were not enough to land one in serious trouble, the woman took one other controversial photo: one showing the infant with duct tape on her face.
The first of these two photos is available next to this article. You can find the other one below. Mind you, the images are fairly shocking, so proceed with caution should you decide to have a better look at them.
According to Daily Mail, the woman took these photos and then posted them online looking to entertain her Facebook friends. Because this is precisely what babies are for: guaranteed entertainment.
Little did she know that, shortly after these images hit the public eye, she would receive a visit from cops with the local sheriff's office and from investigators with the Child Protective Services, who, like many before them, failed to find the photos funny.
Although it was eventually concluded that the 2-month-old was not in any way injured when made to sit for these photos, there are many who claim that, harm or no harm, the grandmother had no business sticking the baby in the pan.
Looking to defend herself and her actions, the woman, identified as Jackie Sheaks, explained that, “It started as just a joke. We put a little tape on the pacifier because we were being silly.” “What we think is funny other people don't; it will never happen again. It's definitely taught us a lesson,” she added.
