This year brought to the market a wide range of high-end smartphones, each of them with its own appealing features and capabilities, something that sometimes makes it rather difficult for users when it comes to choosing a device over another. However, since some people fancy the idea of making close comparisons between various phones, the guys over at TechBlog.gr have just posted a size comparison between some of the most popular devices of the year, though not all of them reached the market as of yet: Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, the HTC HD2, the iPhone 3GS, and the Samsung Omnia II.

Seeing such high-end phones put one next to another is something worth watching, one should agree. Take a look at the video below to see the four handsets measured and compared. In the meantime, in case some of you are not familiar with these phones, we should say a few words on each and every one of them. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a handset announced about three weeks ago and should land next year with Android on board. The HTC HD2 has just arrived on the market running under Windows Mobile 6.5, while Omnia II counts about three months of availability with WM 6.1.

As for the iPhone 3GS, it is the latest flavor of Apple's iconic device, which was put on sale at the end of the second quarter this year, and which already tops the selling charts around the world. The already available HTC HD2, Samsung Omnia II and iPhone 3GS can be purchased by about anyone around the world, except for the HD2 windows phone, which is just making its presence on the market felt and which is set for a US launch at the beginning of 2010.
