Phone Plugins 2.1 Available for Download

Phone plugins allows Mac users to quick-dial numbers and quick-send text messages. Users of Nova Media's plugins will be glad to hear that the new version adds support for Mac OS X 10.5.2 and a slew of additional Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones.

"If you ever looked for a way to quick-dial a number and quick-send a text message like with the Address Book in Mac OS X 10.4.x, the wait is finally over. Phone plugins are here for you to do just that with Mac OS X 10.5.2 and higher," says Nova Media. According to the developers, the new version of Phone plugins works in more applications than just Mac OS X's Address Book.

Phone plugins also includes its own Bluetooth wizard to make it easy to connect your phone to the Mac. Using the plugins, you can send text messages or place calls with a single click.

You can download the plugins right HERE for free. Until you register your Phone plugins, the software will run in demo mode, enabling you to send text messages of 80-characters, and you will see a nag screen for a while after each call or text message sent.

Here's what you need to do to install the Phone plugins for Mac OS X 10.5.2:

1- Download Phone Plugins 2.1

2- Mount the disk image

3- Install the software - When the disk image mounts, a new Finder window that contains the icon for Phone plugins installer will open. Double click on the installer icon to install the Phone plugins.

4- Open the Software folder - You can find the folder called "Phone plugins" in the Application folder of your Hard Disk.

5- Read and follow the manual

Remember, Phone plugins version 2.1 works only under Mac OS X 10.5.2. Full features and tweaks brought by version 2.1 are listed below:

Context menu support: Phone plugins 2.1 can now be used from the context menu in many applications. All non-supported applications can still use the system-wide 'Services' menu to issue a call and send a text message.
Send confirmation: Phone plugins 2.1 will display a confirmation once a text message has been sent.
New cell phones supported: Phone plugins 2.1 supports 14 additional cell phones from Nokia and Sony Ericsson:

- Nokia: 6230i, 6260, 6630, 6650, 6670, 6680, 7610, 6822, N72
- Sony Ericsson: M600i, P990i, S710i, W700, Z320
