Cybercriminals are continuing to send out bogus Tesco Bank emails in an attempt to trick users into handing over their personal details.

According to Hoax Slayer, the latest emails are entitled “Free Tesco Christmas Voucher Shop For Free,” and they inform recipients that they can win free vouchers if they click on a link and provide their details.

“Tesco Bank is giving you a chance to shop for free at any of our tesco outlets or online by giving out free tesco vouchers. This offer is only for Tesco Credit Card owners and it will be on until the 1st of January,2013. To Qualify, follow the link below and input all the details required,” the emails, signed by Tesco Personal Finance Online Service, read.

They continue, “After validation, if selected your voucher will be sent via text message or posted to your Mailbox.”

Users who click on the link are taken to the same fake Tesco website that we’ve seen a number of times over the past few weeks.

Here, they’re asked to enter their usernames, passwords, PINs, phone numbers, credit card numbers, CVVs, email addresses and even email account passwords.

Beware of such emails and such bogus websites. If you have already provided the crooks with your personal and financial details, immediately contact Tesco.
