14 DAY TRIAL // Apple customers are advised to be on the lookout for fake emails that instruct them to reactivate their accounts.
MX Lab experts say that the emails purport to come from [email protected] and they carry the subject line “Reactivation No: A3556P32SLL346E.”
“We inform you that your account is about to expire in less than 48 hours, it is imperative to conduct an audit of your information now, otherwise your account will be deleted. Download the attached form and open it in your browser and make your request,” the fake emails read.
The form that’s attached to the notifications, named “Apple.html,” instructs users to enter their Apple ID, password, and other personal and financial information. All the information entered into the webpage is sent back to the attackers.
In case you’re a victim of this scam, change your Apple password immediately. If you’ve handed over credit card information, keep an eye out for fraudulent transactions.
