Customers of ANZ should be on the lookout these days for malicious emails entitled “ANZ Internet Banking Online Survey.”

“ANZ Internet Banking will add 35.00$ AUD credit to your account just for taking part in our quick 3-question survey. Download and complete the Survey. It`s fast and easy!” the bogus notifications identified by Hoax Slayer read.

The file attached to the email, survey.html, is a phishing webpage that instructs victims to complete a quick survey. Besides answering the three questions, users must also enter their details, allegedly for verification purposes.

The requested information includes name, date of birth, address, credit card number, expiry date, and CVV.

Victims are told that the “data will not be stored on our servers.” However, in reality, the information submitted is immediately stored on a server controlled by the crooks.

They can later use the information to make fraudulent purchases with the victim’s credit card.

In case you’re a victim of this scam, contact ANZ immediately.
