It looks like electronics manufacturer Philips is starting to focus more and more on Russia and China, as the company has been launching new devices only for these emerging markets lately. The newest addition to the list is the entry-level Philips Xenium X116 with dual-SIM support, which has been recently announced in Russia.

This is the third dual-SIM handset announced by Philips in Russia, after Xenium X712 and X510, which were launched back in April and are already available for purchase.

The new Philips Xenium X116 is an affordable candybar feature-phone which comes with a small 2.0-inch TFT LCD display with 176x220 pixels resolution.

Although it is tagged as an entry-level handset, the Xenium X116 includes a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 4GB), MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity, FM radio, as well as built-in flashlight.

On the down side, the X116 comes with the lowest possible 0.3-megapixel camera and only 512KB internal memory.

There's no doubt about the fact that Philips Xenium X116 was launched with a single purpose, to offer its owner the ability to use two SIM cards in one phone.

The handset manufacturer claims that both SIM cards can work at the same time, which would be one of best traits of the feature-phone.

Praised for its long lasting batteries, Philips takes pride in the fact that the 1050 mAh Li-Ion battery of the X116 can provide a standby time of nearly one month or up to 8 hours of talk time. Even though the numbers may seem exaggerated at first glance, this is something usual for Philips

There's no information about its release date, as Philips is constantly “skipping” availability announcements when it comes to low-end devices launched on emerging markets.

One thing is certain though, Philips Xenium X116 will be available for purchase for 2,499 rubles (about $80).
