Philips proudly announced three new items added on its large and famous family of webcams. The new models are: SPC620, SPC1000 and SPC1300. The webcams feature the latest in video and audio technology.

Philips Press Center announced that the improved cameras are going to hit shelves in Europe, US and Asia-Pacific region starting August this year.

As in the case of the previous versions, the webcams allow you to customize your video chats windows, according to your own style and personality. The system allows you to choose from
a selection of creative real-time video effects, or to add personal avatar, logo or emotion to your chats to express your mood.

Video calling should be as natural an experience as possible, according to Philipp Stropnigg, General Manager, Business Line PC Peripherals, Philips Consumer Electronics. "These new models at the top end of our range are simple to set up, use and deliver fun features like video effects as well as incorporating Philips innovations in video and audio quality. This adds up to making the video calling experience even richer and more enjoyable."

The SPC1300 model features a Pixel Plus 2 Technology used especially in the production of Flat TV sets, capable of providing razor-sharp videos and 6 Mega pixels still images. This web cam is based on two built-in directional microphones.

The webcam uses Philips patented audio beaming system while the SPC1300 directional microphones create a 'quiet zone' around you, eliminating external noise and echoes for the clearest possible sound ever, just like any webcam should.

The SPC1300 version also features Digital Natural Motion technology which delivers flicker-free video with increased frame rates of up to 90fps. According to Philips, all new webcams are going to be priced at 99.90 EURp each. Sounds like a reasonable price tag.

The second web camera, SPC1000 has also built-in directional microphones with a noise reduction filter capable of eliminating unwanted sounds while chatting, such as room fans or passing cars.

Advanced sensor gives a video resolution of up to two megapixels for clear video and still images of five megapixels, while a 5X digital zoom gives you greater control over the images you display.
Finally, the SPC620 features a VGA CMOS sensor and a built-in interpolation for high quality video and photo reproduction for video calling and v-mails.

The web cam was designed for simplicity and ease of use, it works great with all popular instant messaging services straight out of the box.
