Philips proves once again its worthiness launching another PMP, from its already successful GoGear series. The announcement regarding the future launching was made during the famous IFA show. The company's representatives divulged no further information, except a possible release date at the end of the year.

However, some sources over the Internet have already found out some of the player's features. Apparently the device uses flash memory in various capacities of 2GB, 4GB and 8GB, as well as built-in 0.3W stereo speakers.

As design patterns, the player will display the same features as the previous versions from the series, meaning the manufacturers kept the black glossy design and minimalist design. The SA6100 will still keep its generously large screen, with 320 x 240 pixels resolution and 65kk color LCD.

And if you are concerned about its capabilities, the player will be able to handle most of the file formats available on the market, such as MP3, WMA, JPG and WMV. The built-in battery is said to last for up to 20 hours of audio playback and full 4 hours when playing video content.

In case you need a reminder, I should tell you the Philips GoGear is a recent series of small flash memory-based and hard drive based personal electronic devices. But, the line includes not only Mp3 players, but also digital cameras and audio recorders. The GoGear line was cleverly named for the size of its products, all of which are quite tiny, therefore very portable. The mp3 players were primarily designed to compete with the iPod series of portable music devices.

All in all, after seeing how much the iPods have evolved, it is hard to figure out who's going to be the boss on the market.

According to Generationmp3, Philips has also launched SA3300 PMP, which is going to be available at the end of the year, as well as a Hifi WAC3500D, that is going to feature 80GB, an iPod dock and power of 80W.

I can only foresee the happiest Christmas for gizmo freaks!
