Philips is trying different strategies in order to reach new customers with the monitors it presented at this year’s IFA event in Berlin, Germany. We’re glad that the company is trying something new, as it’s not only announcing new models with different product names, but each model is coming with something rather unique.

The new AmbiGlow 3D display from Philips is officially called GIOCO, which is the Italian word for game.

Just like the 298P4QJEB and the 298P4QJEB 29” UWXGA monitors that we presented here, GIOCO comes with something truly different to the table.

We’re not talking this time about a strange 21 to 9 format, or its minuscule screen bezel that is also present.

The new monitor sports LEDs on the back that will light up the wall behind your desk. This time, Philips decided to use this feature to make your experience more immersive.

This is a 3D LED monitor, so you can expect some high refresh rates, as these are needed for displaying stereoscopic images. Philips also characterizes it as flicker-free.

This model's official name is Philips 278G4DH and the monitor comes with MHL connectivity.
