For now specifications of the device are not known

You might be aware that Philips has some tablet models available in Asia, but not all the devices have made it into the international market.

But now judging by a listing uncovered by TabletGuide, it looks like Philips is gearing up to launch a new tablet model in Europe.

The slate is code-named Philips Pi3910XY/ZZ and it recently appeared in the Bluetooth database getting its certification. Sadly, we don’t know too much about specifications and the like, but I can tell you the tablet will come equipped with Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity.

Back in November, I reported the Philips Amio tablet was headed for Europe. A Hungarian publication claimed the slate will start selling in the country for a budget price.

The Amio featured a 7-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Power comes from a 1.5GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage (which is expandable by virtue of a microSD card).

The usual tablet functions are provided onboard, including a micro USB port, micro HDMI port and headset jack. The tablet runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Philips has also packed the tablet with the “FullSound” technology, which is said to enhance MP3 file quality.

Maybe the new tablet will come equipped with similar specifications, but this is just speculation at this point. I’ll come back and update as soon as more information is available.
