Philips, the company that has been thoughtful enough to provide mobile phones with the longest battery life (the Philips Xenium phones), Energizer and Techtium have teamed up to introduce a new device, the AAA BackuPower capable mobile phone.

Dubbed the Philips Xenium NRG, the mobile phone is the first extended power range model and will be the first device using Techtium's
BackuPower technology to be made commercially available. Philips' Xenium family of mobile phones already provides a significantly longer standby and talk time than other cell phones, having reached up to 1 month and 10 hours of standby on a single charge.

The BackuPower technology is meant to further improve this. It provides a simple solution for instantly recharging the phone - by inserting any type of standard sized AAA battery (alcaline, NiMH rechargeable or other). Through this, the Philips Xenium NRG phone will be instantly recharged providing users with an extra few hours of talk time.

In fact, the use of the BackuPower feature along with Energizer e2 Lithium AAA batteries will extend the Philips Xenium NRG's battery performance even further, adding up an extra week of standby time or 3 hours worth of talk time. Heavy phone users will also have the reassurance that in case they need their phones, they can instantly recharge them by inserting a single AAA battery, that is generally available anywhere. Although the phone includes the new battery solution, there is no compromise on its slim and compact form. The Xenium NRG will offer users a new level of convenience, help them stay productive for longer and keep ahead of competition.
