This is the closest thing to a Smart TV Philips can make at this point

Philips may have sold its entire TV business, but it still makes monitors, some of which, like the one we are about to detail, almost qualify as Smart TVs on their own.

What we are looking at is a 23-inch monitor from the E series.

Called 237E4QHAD/00, it has a response time of 7ms, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 (dynamic CR of 20,000,000:1), a brightness of 250 cd/m2 and, of course, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The screen is an IPS panel (in-plane switching) with wide viewing angles.

There are just two uncommon traits. One of them is the clarity-enhancing W-LED backlighting (White LED), while the other is support for MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link, which lets compatible smartphones and tablets connect to the display wirelessly).

The price of the Black Cherry-coated Philips 237E4QHAD is €182 / $182-235. Two HDMI inputs and a D-Sub port ensure broad PC compatibility. A pair of 2W speakers are part of the product as well.
