Whether because of Earth day or not, rebates will bring you joy

Philips sells light bulbs that are said to last for 30,000 hours while consuming just 10W.

The only reason this type of LED bulb hasn't started to run rampant is the price of $60, even though a normal, incandescent 60W bulb would cost $165 if it lasted as long.

Still, paying $60 for a light bulb isn't easy to stomach for most.

Fortunately, for a while at least (a week or so), those interested will be able to get one, or more, for $25 a piece.

This is made possible by a $10 instant rebate and another, $25, subsequent one.

“Because the new bulb is 83 percent more energy efficient than the standard 60-Watt incandescent, consumers can now experience new savings for their pocketbooks,” Philips says.

At European retailers, the new price of the bulb is of 38,90 Euro.
