The official website of the Philippines National Telecommunications Commission (ntc.gov.ph) has been breached and defaced by hackers of PrivateX and Anonymous Philippines.

Currently, the site is restored, but according to The Hackers Post, the hacktivists published a message for the country’s president on the defacement page.

The hackers say they don’t encourage war with Malaysia over the Sabah territory, but they urge the Philippines government to “defend its sovereignty.”

“Invading our territory by foreign country is unacceptable. Malaysia air strike in Sabah is a provocative act. We do not know how you are able to relax while our Filipino brothers sacrifice their life to defend Sabah. It seems you are a Pro-Malaysian,” they stated.

They also urge the government to take steps to make sure .gov websites are properly protected against cyberattacks. The hacktivists highlight the fact that “no security was done” over the past few years.

ntc.gov.ph is only the latest government website that's been hacked since the conflict over the Sabah territory started.
