It seems there are a lot of events going on these days on the Philippines cyber security scene. The country’s Department of Justice (DOJ) is urging hacktivists to attack illegal adult sites – ones that exploit children and women – instead of ones owned by the government.

According to GMA News, Cybercrime Office Head Assistant Secretary Geronimo Sy claims that it would be much more productive if hackers focused their efforts on taking down websites that sold children and women from the Philippines, instead of targeting sites owned by the government and the media.

He has highlighted the fact that the owners of these services are making a massive profit and no one is stopping them.

On the other hand, representatives of Anonymous Philippines claim they are “not for hire,” and tell the DOJ that it’s the agency’s job to handle such criminals.

“Why are they asking us to do THEIR job?” the hackers said in a tweet.
