A recent survey on Reddit shows that close to 15 percent of Destiny players are last-gen

Destiny is now live pretty much everywhere, and while the majority of players are enjoying it on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, there are still a number of people getting it for last-gen consoles.

While the next-gen versions are clearly the superior ones, developer Bungie put a lot of effort into making sure that getting Destiny for either the PS3 or Xbox 360 would still be worth it, and assured several times that all the content and gameplay experience were exactly the same on all platforms.

While the performance and visuals will be greatly enhanced on current-generation hardware, the last-gen edition has no shortage of features, and includes all the rich content in the living world that Bungie wants to offer its fans.

Furthermore, now the head of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer, tells Destiny fans not to worry about getting the short end of the stick when buying Bungie's first-person shooter / role-playing game hybrid on last-generation consoles.

The PS3 and PS4 editions are arguably a marginally better deal, as they come with some timed exclusive content that will only be available on Microsoft's platforms starting fall 2015, but given the wealth of content in Bungie's creation, you're not in any way worse off playing on either Xbox machine.

@JWShortland I wouldn't dismiss the 360 or PS3 versions, @Bungie did a lot of work to make those great.
