By the sound of things, Adele is looking for inspiration for her album in all the right places. In an interview, former Genesis frontman, Phil Collins, confirmed that he was contacted by Adele to write some songs for her.

According to Billboard, though he wasn't aware of Adele and her success prior to this talk, Phil admits he was astonished by her popularity and fell in love with her powerful voice: “I wasn't actually too aware [of her]. I live in a cave [but] she's achieved an incredible amount and I really love her voice and I love some of that stuff she's done.”

Interestingly, it can't be yet determined if the collaboration songs will end up on Phil's album or on Adele's album. As is happens, both singers are currently expected to release an album, so it's hard to tell who is working with whom on whose project.

While Adele has been working with Madonna on her follow-up for her successful “21” album, Phil Collins recently opened up about his intention to return to music, “I have started thinking about doing new stuff, some shows again.... Everything is possible. We could tour in Australia and South America. We haven't been there yet.”
