PC game digital distributor GOG just started its Winter QuestFest weekend promotion, offering all the quest titles from the GOG classic catalog, as well as substantial discounts for a lot of classic Activision games.

Back in the old days, the word “quest” used to stand for adventure games, during the glory days of '90s star developer and publisher Sierra Online.

Quest for Glory is one of the most famous sagas in classic gaming history, and was an incredibly popular action-role playing game series, that also was among the pioneers of the concept of carrying a character from one game to the other.

The games will have players explore five huge world, based on Gremanic, Greek, Arabian and Slavic folklore and mythology.

Another classic quest series is the acclaimed King's Quest, all eight games being available, packed in 3 neat little packages.

But the list of titles does not stop here, as many games from Activision's catalog benefit from the 60 percent discount, across different genres. Space Quest, Police Quest, and the Gabriel Knight series are also on featured in GOG's Winter QuestFest.

City builders Pharaoh, Zeus and Caesar also make an appearance, with the innovative steampunk role playing game Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura hot on their tail, and even real time strategy hit Dark Reign, plus expansion and sequel, makes the list.

The more ambitious can struggle for world domination in Call to Power 2, while those who desire to embark on a thrilling adventure have the Zork titles to look forward to.

Role playing fans will be pleased to find that both Krondor Games, as well as Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, also get the discount treatment.

A truly epic offering of 32 great classic games, with the 60 percent offer available until January 21, 5:00 AM GMT.
