Video game publisher Trion Worlds, one of the companies aiming for success in the MMO space, has announced that its upcoming title End of Nations will be launched using a free-to-play system, allowing gamers to get access to a premium game experience without needing to subscribe.

The developers are saying that those who download the game package for End of Nations will be able to access both the single player mode and the cooperative features of the game.

They will also get access to the Conquer the World mode, which is the heart of the game, where players can engage in massive battles, with teams of 26 facing off for control of various regions of the world.

Trion Worlds says that those who play for free will be able to enjoy the entire game and will have no limit on the time they spend with End of Nations.

Dave Luehmann, who is the executive producer and vice president working on End of Nations, has stated, “Being able to offer a premium game such as End of Nations for free sets us apart in this industry.”

He added, “At Trion, we strive to innovate online gaming while emphasizing the delivery of the best core gameplay experience available. Our decision to release End of Nations as a AAA free–to-play title is guided by these principles.”

The publishers are also offering a retail Collector's Edition for End of Nations and a digital based one, which allows gamers to get access to more unique content and a monthly subscription is also available to those who want to get “extra value and convenience.”

Trion Worlds has not yet said exactly what paying customers will be getting extra and how it will affect the gameplay of End of Nations.

The MMO is being developed by the same Petroglyph team that has long been in charge of the well known strategy series Command & Conquer.
