Dear developers, please make me a Linux Fallout 3

Linux found its fans among many users with all kind of necessities, so that it became a strong and reliable system in many domains. Once with the prompt and fast development and spreading of the Linux operating system, there also came a high demand for more and more features to be brought in. There is a while since I have noticed a slight increased development in the Linux native games field. But there is still lot of work to be done here.

I have always heard different friends of mine complaining about the extremely small number of Linux native games compared to the wide options games pallete for Windows. I have also heard many people complaining that after switching to Linux, due to countless reasons, they cannot play the newly released game versions. The latest such kvetches I was given to hear were related to Fallout3 and The Witcher. People who enjoyed the Fallout1 and 2 versions and fell in love with them and also became devoted to their new Linux OS are now in a really difficult situation. Therefore, they appeal to the game developers' mercy and try to convince them to make a Linux version too. For that, they've launched an online petition.

So, if you think you are one of those unhappy fellows who wish to see that game running on Linux, or you're just interested in helping those guys out, you can spare 2 minutes of your time and give them a signature here. This kind of petitions have been seen before, see for example the petition to Sony or the petition for a native Linux installer for The Witcher . They stand as a proof of the interest and trust in a reliable operating system such as Linux coming from all types of people, from developers to gamers. After it has exceeded the kernel stage, Linux must now become a complete system in all domains, office, services and why not, fun and gaming.

Fallout 3 is a role-playing game currently under development by Bethesda Softworks and, unlike previous games in the series, Fallout 3 is set on the East Coast of the United States. A trailer of this game is set to be released on the 5th of June. This February, Bethesda officials stated that the game was "a fairly good ways away" from release, but that detailed information and previews would be available later in the year. The Fallout series has also spawned the spin-off Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel.
