It will offer a complete package

EA Sports is clearly a busy company these days, largely due to the fact that all of the employees are hard at work on the new EA Sports Active project, which promises to take fitness games to a whole new level. Dubbed a Wii Fit killer, the future title will employ new sports routines and exercises that will emphasize weight loss, a factor that wasn't well approached by Nintendo when it launched Wii Fit.

The game will use a pretty innovative peripheral, which consists of a neoprene strap that will hold the Wii Remote and Nunchuck firmly attached to the player’s body. Peter Moore, the president of the EA Sports label also said that the game had quite a lot of chances to be turned into a franchise, and that we might get to see some individualized games coming with the EA Sports Active brand on them.

Moore is now back to talk about the fact that the game will also have a nutrition book in the package, one that will give specialized advice to players about what they can or cannot eat depending on what they want to achieve, like firmer muscles or a slimmer body. He says that balance is key in this game, and that this nutrition book is just one part of the whole EA Sports Active experience.

"I do not want people to think if you simply work out for 20 minutes doing this every day that all of a sudden the weight is going to drop off you if you then take a visit to the pizza parlor. So this is about getting balance. This is not only working out but also getting a little bit of, whether it's portion control or eating the right foods, this is going to be done in tandem with nutrition. It's just not going to work on its own, that's for sure."

Some very interesting facts, which prove that Electronic Arts definitely wants to deliver a complete package that will change the way players interact with games and how these sports titles have an impact on them. Let's just hope that EA Sports Active will make gamers more aware of their physical condition and get them to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
