The title could have been confused with Mars lander

Peter Molyneux and developer 22 Cans have announced that they have renamed their upcoming video game Curiosity: What’s Inside the Cube, because the original name was exactly the one of the NASA launched rover that is currently exploring the Martian landscape.

It’s not clear whether NASA has contacted 22 Cans directly in order to ask the team to change the name of their title or whether the developers themselves have taken the decision in order to make sure that there’s no confusion.

Curiosity: What’s Inside the Cube is the first full project that Peter Molyneux has worked on since he has left Lionhead Studios and has abandoned the Fable series.

The game asks the player to simply work on a cube that’s made up of 64 million blocks, slowly chipping away pieces in order to reveal what’s inside.

The entire effort is collaborative and just one player will be able to see what’s at the core of the Curiosity cube.
