You really have to love
Peter Molyneux. He can create hype around any kind of game, especially those made by him. Such is the case with the upcoming
Fable II, which is set to hit the store shelves worldwide on October 21. It promises to give players the biggest variety of choices ever conceived in a game, with every one of them having an impact on the player’s character.
But this title can't even compare to the next one Molyneux has prepared. Recently speaking with Kikizo, he unveiled some details on his next project. He went on to say that it would be something truly spectacular, with everyone who knew about it being very impressed by the soon to be announced title. We might get a chance to see it at next year's Game Developers Conference, or GDC, but it all depends on Microsoft, which really wants to leave the public in "shock and awe."
"There's nothing else remotely like it ever before. Everyone at Microsoft who's seen it is super excited about it – I mean there's just this huge anticipation for us to finally show it, because it is so unbelievably ambitious," told Molyneux to the guys from Kikizo.
Quite a bold statement, considering that Microsoft has some experienced people working for it, who came up with the likes of Halo 3 or Age of Empires. But if there's a man capable of creating so much anticipation behind a game, that man is Molyneux. He also said that, considering this day and age, the game would be quite controversial, creating some vivid debates in politics.
"Especially with the current timing, this will be really, politically contentious," he revealed to his interviewers.
These statements will really get people curious about his next project, but until the 2009 GDC, set to take place at the end of March, all we can do is wait. However, one thing's for sure – it will be interesting, as Molyneux always tries to put the most remarkable ideas in his gaming projects.
