He also talks about DLC

Peter Hines is the main voice of Bethesda when it comes to promoting the company's upcoming post apocalyptic role playing game Fallout 3. Even if die-hard fans of the first two games dismissed Bethesda's effort as being just "Oblivion with guns", while criticizing virtually every aspect shown by the developers, Hines always said that the game would prove its worth when it would be launched later in the year.

But talking to TechRadar, the Bethesda man chose to speak about the far future rather than the near one. Hines pretty much admitted that his company was already actively thinking about the release of another game in the Fallout series, saying that "We didn't buy the Fallout franchise to just do Fallout 3 and then stop." The fourth game in the series will most likely be based on the reaction that players will have when Fallout 3 will be launched. Hines admitted that the immediate concern is the success of the game that is coming out in October, by saying, "But let's get this one out of the door before we worry about the next one".

It was clear that Bethesda was not going to quit the franchise after just one game, but such a statement will likely infuriate some fans who will quickly claim that the company is only developing Fallout 3 and now 4 as a way of making money. Well, it might very well be so, but Bethesda is clearly not dumb enough to make a bad Fallout 3 and then to march on to making a fourth game. Its commitment to a franchise is, maybe, the best sign that the company really wants to deliver as good a game as possible.

Hines also touched the subject of downloadable content for Fallout 3, pointing out that the developers are only planning to offer DLC for the Xbox 360 and for the PC versions of the game.
