Pete Doherty and the Babyshambles were expected to perform this Wednesday at the Ibiza Rock festival but, in the very last moment, decided to call off the gig.
Doherty, currently under a judge's supervision, is set to go into rehab again (well enough nobody's keeping count!) and battle his heroin addiction.
Andy McKay, one of the organizers of the festival said that the troubled rocker is to be admitted into an unnamed clinic on Monday.
'We were really looking forward to welcoming Babyshambles but, at the end of the day, we love and support Pete and it's his health and happiness that are important', McKay said in a statement issued on Friday.
It is yet unknown whether Doherty's drug related issues will affect the band's scheduled tour. The Babyshambles are set to perform in Belgium, Switzerland and London earlier this summer, but McKay seems to think that they will be back again in Ibiza almost in no time at all.
'He has promised us that he will celebrate his recovery with a special comeback gig at Ibiza Rocks, so we can't argue with that', he concluded by saying.
