Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty is rumoured to be engaged with model Kate Moss, after their huge party held at the Dorchester, to celebrate the event. Doherty was seen, after the party, wearing a ring on his engagement finger.

Among the celebrities that attended the bash were Sadie Frost, Jade Jagger and Mick Jones, the producer of Doherty's new album, who were told about the party at the very last minute, in order to ensure complete secrecy.

"Some say it was a pre-engagement party to tell pals about their plans to marry," a source told The Sun. "Others say it was to celebrate friends opening a new restaurant," they added.

And this weekend, Doherty held up his finger to the paparazzi and said: "You've missed it. This is not a rude gesture; I'm just showing you my ring."
