A couple of days ago, troubled rocker Pete Doherty of The Babyshambles and supermodel fiancée Kate Moss were seen entering the private Capio Nightingale Hospital in North-West London. The news immediately reached newspapers and tabloids and everyone suspected that the couple were seeking to check into rehab together, as a last attempt at getting Pete clean.
In the light of a video that surfaced today, it certainly seems very likely that Pete is really back in rehab. The British newspaper 'The Sun' got the video after one of the girls who spent a couple of hours with Pete in a cheap Thai hotel contacted them and made her story public.
The footage, shot with a camera phone (click
HERE to see it but be advised that its content is shocking), shows Pete with three girls in a hotel room, shooting up at least a couple of times. The bed he is sitting on is filled with drug paraphernalia and he injects himself with what looks to be cocaine in both arms, at intervals of no more than a couple of minutes apart.
At one point, Pete grabs a cell phone and calls Kate Moss, with whom he had just exchanged non-binding Buddhist vows, trying to reassure her that he's off the drugs... while injecting himself! He can be heard telling her that he's 'fine' and that she shouldn't be worried about him because he 'loves' her. One of the girls that accompanied him to the hotel room says that he seemed really 'out of it' and that, later, they got scared, put him in a cab and dropped him at a local bar.
'It was a bit mind-blowing. He asked us if we minded. Initially we were like, "OK, go for it", but as time went on we began to get nervous. After one conversation [with Kate] his mood changed. He was quite upset. I sent Kate a text reading, "Dropped Pete off at a Bob Marley café. He's a bit out of sorts". That's the last we saw of him.', the 21-year-old woman told 'The Sun'.
The very next day, the obviously troubled rocker got into a huge fight with a taxi driver, that soon turned physical, and Kate Moss packed his bags and sent him back to England. Doherty is famous for his many brush-offs with the law, especially for the way he always managed to avoid any serious jail time, despite the fact that on most occasions, police found significant quantities of illegal substances on his person.
