Pete Doherty is not allowed to see his son anymore, due to his alcohol and drugs problems. The mother of his child, Lisa Moorish, confessed it's difficult for her to let their 18-month-old son, Astile, to see his father in such contitions.

"Lisa is finding it very difficult to keep Pete in Estile's life," a friend told the newspaper. "Pete is still battling his heroin demons and that has made him extremely unreliable. Sometimes he will see Astile every day for a week and then he'll disappear for weeks on end and have no contact at all."

"He doesn't stick to planned arrangements and hardly ever answers his phone - and that has really frustrated Lisa. Estile is very young and Lisa won't take the risk of him being messed about by Pete. It isn't fair on him".

"Lisa's main priority is to protect her son, which is why she has told Pete in no uncertain terms that she doesn't want him to see him any more."

Pete Doherty, born March 12, 1981 in Hexham, Northumberland, UK, was the co-frontman and songwriter with Carl Barat, of British punk and garage rock revivalists The Libertines. He is currently the frontman for the band Babyshambles.

Since 2003, he has become known to the public at large as a result of his addiction to drugs and his recent relationship with model Kate Moss.

Doherty was expelled from The Libertines as a result of erratic behavior caused by his drug addiction. In the summer of 2003, Kill City vocalist Lisa Moorish gave birth to Astile, Doherty's child.

In July 2003, he broke into Barat's Marylebone flat and stole some items, including a laptop and an antique guitar, and was sentenced to six months in prison, with the second three months as a suspended sentence.

In present, Doherty is undergoing a rehabilitation using Naltroxene, which prevents the opiates in heroin from causing a "high", after four or five failed drug rehabilitation attempts.

i think pete should see his kid. but i dont think he should be alowed to see him when under the influence of heroin or any other drug. it must be hard for the kid to grow up with the papers reporting his fathers "iresponsible" behaviour so i think the child should be alowed to make its own opinion on pete whilst growing up and not what the papers say.
