Scotts Valley, California-based Seagate, one of the world's top vendors of hard drives and storage solutions, has just announced a new partnership with MusicSkins LLC, a leading provider of music-related, high-quality vinyl skin products, which will enable the storage vendor to add a touch of personality to its line of FreeAgent Go and FreeAgent Go for Mac external hard drives. Basically, Seagate has announced that its FreeAgent Go series of external storage solutions will be featured with a customized exterior design provided by MusicSkins from a vast catalog of licensed creative or customized designs.

“Our FreeAgent Go portable hard drives allow people to store their personal digital treasures in a slim, fashionable, easy-to-carry package. It makes sense that they would want to add their personal stamp to the drives,” said Terry Cunningham, senior vice president, Seagate Branded Solutions. “Your photos, music and movies are a reflection of who you are and through our partnership with MusicSkins, you can now have their drives reflect your personality, too.”

Trying to get a little of your attention, Seagate's partnership with MusicSkins will enable users to choose from a wide range of premium vinyl skins that also provide the drive with a durable anti-scratch, anti-UV coating for protection from external factors. The list of designs is rather large and includes artists like Bob Marley, John Lennon, Madonna, Lil Wayne and even personal photos and images, adding a touch of personality to the user's external drive solution.

The customization option now enabled for Seagate's line of external drives doesn't come for free, as users will have to pay about US$15 to US$30, depending on selection and type of device. However, through a special email offer, users who buy a FreeAgent Go or FreeAgent Go for Mac drive can receive 20% off MusicSkin and 35 free songs from eMusic, upon registering their FreeAgent Go drive on the company's website.
