Atlus has confirmed that Persona 4 will indeed be making its way to the PlayStation 3 home entertainment system from Sony, and not only that, but it's going to go live next week, on April 8.Just two days ago, an ESRB rating for the game listing the PlayStation 3 as its target platform led to some speculation regarding the potential release of the game as a PlayStation 2 classic title on the PlayStation Network.
Now the rumor becomes official news, as Atlus has announced that the praised role-playing game will be released on the North American PlayStation Network as a playable title for the PlayStation 3, on April 8.
"Astute fans will recognize the date is three days before the main character transfers to Yasogami High School, so if you're the type of super-dedicated player that wants to play the game exactly to the calendar date, there's still time," Atlus said.
Persona 4 is one of the most popular titles in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, being the fifth video game in the Persona series. It was so popular that the developer decided to remake the game for the PlayStation Vita, dubbing the improved version Persona 4 Golden.
There is currently no word regarding the European release of the role-playing game, and we can only keep our fingers crossed.
