Don't miss out on the most active meteor shower as it peaks this weekend

I hope everyone packed their bags for a long weekend away from city lights since the Perseid meteor shower will reach its peak on Sunday and Monday night.

The sky will light up with the famous Perseid meteor shower this weekend and the best place to view it is away from city lights and thick smog.

Night sky watchers will be delighted to know there may be up to 50 meteoroids visible per hour so streaks will be viewed all over the sky.

As NASA points out, the Perseid shower is the largest annual meteor shower judging by the “activity” level. This means that if there’s a clear sky announced for the next couple of days in your area, you should make sure to plan a trip.

Of course, meteoroids can already be seen on the night sky, but after reaching the peak on Sunday and Monday night, the showers will dim in intensity quite quickly.
