Techus, now a member of Technology Alliance Partner (TAP), released another product in the line of enterprise NAS servers. The N8800PRO from Techus is the successor to the N8800, a high-performance server system meant for business networks. In trying to keep in line with the current demand for high-quality and high-speed data transfer rates, the new server model N8800PRO not only uses high-end components, but is also optimized and enhanced to provide the quickest and easiest access to stored data.

"The N8800PRO is a new level of power and flexibility in enterprise storage," Florence Shih, Thecus Technology general manager, said. "With unbeatable performance and iron-clad reliability, businesses across the globe can deploy the N8800PRO to ensure that corporate data assets can be secured and available at all times."

Data will have a storage environment of up to 16TB thanks to the eight 3.5” SATA hard drive bays. Not only that, but further increasing the storage capacity is possible through attaching no less than five different N8800PRO servers together and managing them at the same time through a single master device. This is possible thanks to the stackable feature of the server and the N8800PRO servers with iSCSI initiators (even supporting iSCSI thin provisioning).

The server uses an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. To enable the optimum use of the processing power, the system is equipped with 4GB of DDR2 800 memory, which allows for impressive system response and that permit the efficient management of an increased number of simultaneous connections. Not only that, but to allow for further improvement of the network traffic, the motherboard is equipped with an internal PCI-3 slot in case the need arises for a more highly competent network adapter (such as a 10Gbit PCI-e NIC).

Also, users can employ multiple RAID modes on a single unit, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD, according to preferences. To easily do this, they can take advantage of the included online RAID expansion and migration features. In addition, the server uses a dual DOM (Document Object Model) design that has a backup DOM, which will reprogram the main one should malfunctions occur.

The N8800PRO Techus server is flexible and adaptable, even able to grow in power and storage capacity along with any business. It easily works with any network with multiple file system support (Ext3, XFS, and ZFS), multiple operating system support (Windows, Mac, and Linux), and even multiple languages and offers an increased reliability through its compatibility with UPS units.
