Perez Hilton to Star as Himself in Michael Jackson-Inspired Movie

First celebrity blogger – bully, then reformed celebrity blogger, socialite, fitness expert and children’s book author, Perez Hilton is now branching out, having signed on to star as himself in a movie inspired by Michael Jackson’s life.

Though he was one of the most bitter anti-Michael Jackson bloggers when the singer was alive, in the film, “A * Is Killed,” Perez will play a “truth-seeking proponent of justice.”

The cameo has already been shot in Los Angeles, where Perez resides, mediaite informs, citing a Variety report.

“Gossip blogger (and soon-to-be children’s book author) Perez Hilton is set to star in an upcoming film about a man obsessed with the death of Michael Jackson,” the e-zine says.

“Celeb blogger Perez Hilton has landed a cameo in French helmer Christophe Lenoir’s A * Is Killed, said to be inspired by the mysterious death of Michael Jackson,” Variety reports.

“Arifilms is producing the thriller, which stars Himesh Reshammiya as an Indian musician fascinated by a pop star killed under suspicious circumstances,” says the same movie-oriented publication.

mediaite notes that having Perez play a “truth-seeking proponent of justice” in a film even loosely based on Michael Jackson’s life and death is somewhat ironic, since he cracked disrespectful jokes when the first reports that the King of Pop had died started to emerge online in the summer of 2009.

For those who don’t remember or don’t know, when TMZ started running stories that Michael had gone into cardiac arrest, Perez called it a “publicity stunt,” hinting that this was a scam to garner more interest in Michael’s upcoming O2 Arena shows.

“Upon realizing Michael Jackson’s death was not a hoax, Hilton immediately deleted the original news post and replaced it with a shorter message that linked to a story at entertainment news site TMZ, which said the singer had in fact gone into cardiac arrest,” says Variety.

No word yet on when the movie will be coming out.
